First, the 9 days Nepal Bhutan tour starts in Kathmandu, Nepal. You will spend three nights in Kathmandu before flying to Paro.

During the three nights, one of our professional, friendly tour guides will accompany you to several popular tourist sites such as Monkey Temple, Pashupatinath Temple, Bouddhanath Stupa, Kathmandu Durbar Square, and Patan Durbar Square.

After a full day of touring Kathmandu, you will spend your second night in Nagarkot, a hill station approximately two hours away from the city. The next morning, you will see a gorgeous sunrise and a magnificent distant view of the Himalayan ranges, including Everest.

The sky has to be clear for the best view. Nagarkot is not bustling like Kathmandu. You will enjoy nature and tranquility. From here, you will visit the Bhaktapur Durbar Square and Namobuddha Monastery.

Namobuddha Monastery is one of the important pilgrimage sites on the outskirts of Kathmandu. In addition, you will explore the vibrant streets of Thamel, the tourist hub in Kathmandu. Your hotel will be in this area in the city.

In your downtime, we highly recommend visiting the Garden of Dream, located just at the entrance of Thamel, and the Narayanhiti Palace, located on the next block.

This is your time in Nepal. Now, during your flight from Kathmandu to Paro (Bhutan), you will see beautiful landscapes and heavenly views of several Himalayan ranges. Land at the Paro Airport, where our local team will pick you up and drive you to Thimphu.

It will be a comfortable two-hour drive. The remaining day is free. We recommend that travelers rest and have a big dinner with many soups to acclimate. Also, go for a walk around your hotel.

The next day, you will visit tourist sites in Thimphu, such as Tashichho Dzong, Buddha Dordenma Statue, Changangkha Lhakhang, Simtokha Dzong, the National Folk Heritage Museum, and the Royal Textile Academy of Bhutan.

In the evening, you will be free to shop and spend time as you wish. From Thimphu, you will drive to Punakha, a lush valley known as the jewel of Bhutan. On the way, cross the Dochula Pass (3,200 m), from where you will see an outstanding mountain landscape.

In Punakha, you will visit the Chimi Lhakhang Temple, Punakha Dzong, and Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten. After exploring Punakha, you will return to Paro and spend one full day in the city before flying back to your home.

You will hike to Taktsang Monastery, also known as Tiger's Nest Monastery. It involves around two hours of ascending. The hiking route is well-established and available for most travelers. Likewise, if you cannot walk uphill, you can rent a horseback ride for a few additional bucks.

The scenery during the hike and the view of the monastery are phenomenal. After the hike, get rest and have lunch. Later, you will visit Drukgyel Dzong ruins, Kyichu Lhakhang, Drukgyel Dzong, Dungtse Lhakhang, and the Farmhouses in Paro Valley.

Best Time to Do the Nepal Bhutan Tour 9 Days

The Nepal Bhutan Tour - 9 Days is most enjoyable in the spring (March to May) or fall (September to November), when the weather is most conducive to sightseeing and cultural exploration. During spring, Nepal's hills bloom with rhododendrons, while the skies remain clear, providing stunning vistas of the Himalayas. While winter (December to February) is an off-peak season with cooler temperatures, it provides more peaceful vacation experiences and breathtaking mountain scenery, particularly in Bhutan. However, the summer and monsoon seasons (June to August) bring considerable rains, particularly in Nepal, which can cause travel problems and obscure stunning views.

Risk During Nepal and Bhutan Tour

While the Nepal and Bhutan tour offers an incredible experience, there are a few risks to be aware of:

Altitude Sickness: Trekking in high-altitude areas such as Nepal's Himalayas or Bhutan's mountain regions can result in altitude sickness. It is critical to acclimate appropriately, stay hydrated, and relax if symptoms develop.

Weather Conditions: The weather can change quickly, especially up in the mountains. Prepare for rain, snow, or chilly weather and pack accordingly.

Health Risks: As with any travel, there is a danger of illness, including food and waterborne diseases. If you're concerned about hygiene, stick with clean, bottled water and avoid street food.

Physical Strain: Hiking and trekking can be physically demanding mainly for people who are unfamiliar with high altitudes or strenuous exertion. Proper physical preparation is necessary.

Natural Disasters: Both Nepal and Bhutan are earthquake-prone (Nepal more so), and while the risk is low, it's always a good idea to be aware of safety precautions in the event of a shake.

Wildlife and Terrain: In remote places, wildlife such as snakes and insects could be a threat. Stick to the designated paths and follow the guide's recommendations.

Limited Medical Facilities: Because remote places may have limited access to medical services, it is critical to carry a first aid bag and understand basic emergency protocols.

Cultural Sensitivities: Not respecting local customs, especially at religious sites, can lead to misunderstandings. Be mindful of cultural norms to avoid offending locals.

Important Travel Document While Visiting Nepal, Bhutan and Tibet

                    Passport Requirements:

Before traveling, be sure your passport is valid for at least six months after your desired departure date. Moreover, your passport must include at least two blank visa pages, which are necessary for visa stamps upon entry and leave.

                    Bhutan Visa

A visa is required for all visitors to Bhutan, however it cannot be obtained for individually. Instead, travelers must plan their trip through a recognized travel operator, who will manage the visa process for them. Once your tour is confirmed, the agency will work with Bhutanese immigration authorities in Thimphu to obtain your visa. Before traveling, you will be given a visa clearance letter, which is required for admission. When you arrive at Paro International Airport or specified land border crossings, your visa will be legally stamped in your passport.

                    Nepal Visa (on Arrival)

Nepal provides visa-on-arrival service at Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport, as well as other border access points with India and China. Alternatively, visitors can get a visa in advance from the Nepalese embassy or consulate in their home country. If you plan to return to Nepal following your Bhutan tour, you should obtain a multiple-entry visa, which permits for several re-entries within the validity term. This visa charged around USD 25 with a smooth and flexible travel experience. The visa-on-arrival process in Nepal is simple and effective.

                    Additional Expenses

Please know that your 9 days Nepal Bhutan tour package does not include travel insurance, personal shopping, or additional meals beyond those offered. Drinks and Foods in 9 days Nepal and Bhutan

A typical Nepali lunch consists of lentil soup (dal), rice (bhat), and vegetable curry (tarkari), which are accompanied by spicy pickles (achar). Momos, steamed or fried dumplings stuffed with meat or veggies, are also popular. Influences from surrounding areas have resulted in delicious foods like chowmein and sel roti, a sweet, ring-shaped rice bread. However, Bhutanese cuisine depends heavily on ema datshi, a fiery mixture of chili peppers and cheese. Red rice, buckwheat, and maize are staple cereals, with red rice being exclusive to high elevations. Traditional foods include phaksha paa (pork stir-fry with radish and chili) and jasha maru (spicy chicken). Butter tea and Ara (fermented liquor) are commonly consumed.
