Places you will visit in Nepal

In Nepal, you will explore Kathmandu and Pokhara. These are two famous tourist cities in the country and are visited by most travelers. Kathmandu is the capital of Nepal. You will land here and spend a couple of days discovering the city.

It is a valley. Therefore, lush hills surround the city, providing excellent hiking routes and hill stations. Visit monuments like Pashupatinath Temple, Bouddhanath Stupa, Monkey Temple, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, and Bhaktapur Durbar Square in Kathmandu.

These are the top must-visit places. From Kathmandu, you will follow a scenic highway to Pokhara, the second biggest city in Nepal and the gateway to the Annapurna region.

The city coexists with nature. Here, you will explore lakes, caves, and waterfalls instead of palaces and courtyards. Phewa Lake, Davis Falls, Sarangkot, Gupteshwor Cave, Peace Pagoda, International Mountain Museum, and Lakeside Market are top tourist destinations in Pokhara.

In Pokhara, you will also see mountains like Fishtail, Annapurna, and Dhaulagiri. Annapurna and Dhaulagiri are the tenth and seventh tallest mountains on Earth. Your time in Nepal will be magnificent.

The cultural richness, intricate architecture and art, nature, mountains, and the bustle of the city all combined will make your journey phenomenal.

On the 6th day of the tour, you will leave Nepal and fly to Bhutan. The flight will present you with the grandeur of the Himalayas. Land in Paro and drive to Thimphu. As Thimphu is situated at 2,400 meters above sea level, it is recommended that you spend the remaining day acclimating.

In Paro, you will hike to the Taktsang Monastery, also known as Tiger's Nest Monastery. It is an architectural gem of Bhutan. The hike is about two hours, and horseback riding is also available for a few bucks.

Likewise, you will also visit Kyichu Lhakhang, Drukgyel Dzong, Drukgyel Dzong ruins, Ta Dzong Museum, Rinpung Dzong, Dungtse Lhakhang, and the Farmhouses in Paro Valley.

Availability of ATM’s and Money Exchange Facilities During Nepal and Bhutan Tour

In both Nepal and Bhutan, ATMs are readily available in major cities like Kathmandu, Thimphu, and Paro, but may be limited in more remote areas, so it’s a good idea to carry cash with you, especially for travel outside urban centers. Currency exchange can easily be done at banks and exchange offices, with Nepali Rupees (NPR) in Nepal and Ngultrum (BTN) in Bhutan. Indian Rupees are also accepted in Bhutan. Credit and debit cards are widely accepted in urban areas for hotels, restaurants, and shops, but for smaller purchases, local markets, or travel to rural regions, having cash is recommended. To ensure flexibility, it’s wise to carry a mix of local currency and international cards during your travels.
