8 Days Nepal Bhutan Tour, Itinerary and Cost for 2025/2026

Join Welcome Nepal Treks for an eight days of adventurous tour in Nepal and Bhutan. Our meticulously curated 7 nights 8 days Nepal Bhutan tour package will present an unforgettable trip to these two beautiful Himalayan nations. You will explore rich Nepalese and Bhutanese cultural heritages, enjoy heartwarming hospitality, and behold breathtaking landscapes.

Traveling to Nepal and Bhutan is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Our 8-day tour allows you to experience both countries immersively. You will learn a lot about Nepali and Bhutanese culture, traditions, beliefs, history, art, and architecture. It is an easy tour, so travelers of all ages can join it. We have both group and private tours available.

The journey begins in Kathmandu, Nepal. Our friendly representatives will welcome you to the city. You will spend three days in Kathmandu and fly to Paro (Bhutan) on the fourth day of the tour. You will visit several UNESCO World Heritage Sites with your Nepali guide during your time in Kathmandu.

From the tranquillity of Monkey Temple and Bouddhanath Stupa to the bustle of Kathmandu Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square, the tour in Kathmandu will be phenomenal. Likewise, you will also visit the significant Hindu pilgrimage site Pashupatinath Temple and medieval Bhaktapur Durbar Square.

To make the tour more special, we have also included a visit to Namo Buddha Monastery and Changu Narayan Temple in our itinerary. Similarly, the lively streets of Thamel, chaotic local markets, the happening nightlife of Kathmandu, and the delicious Nepali food will make the tour even more fantastic.

Talking about Kathmandu's nightlife, it is immaculate. If you love clubbing or hopping from one bar to another, you will love your time in this city. Just be attentive to your surroundings and enjoy your time. We highly recommend travelers try Nepalese foods.

Momos, sekuwa, chatamari, bara, juju dahu, tass, gundruk, yomori, Thakali khana set, and Newari khaja set should be on the top of your food list. You simply cannot leave Nepal without trying these dishes. After your tour, you will take a one-hour flight to Paro.

The flight offers breathtaking views of the Himalayan range. Land in Paro and drive to Thimphu. Now, your journey in Bhutan begins. Bhutan is known for its deep-rooted cultural heritage, natural beauty, spirituality, craftsmanship, and unique GNP (Gross National Happiness) policy.

Away from the skyscrapers, Bhutanese cities coexist with nature. Ancient buildings with intricate traditional Bhutanese architecture are found in every city. You will spend your first night in Thimphu. It is the capital of Bhutan and also the spiritual and economic hub. Paro to Thimphu is only an hour's drive.

So, as per your landing time, you may visit a few tourist sites in Thimphu in the late afternoon/evening. The must-visit places in Thimphu are the National Memorial Chorten, Tashichho Dzong, Giant Buddha statue, Heritage Museum, Textile Museum, and Paper Factory.

Note that Paro and Thimphu are situated above 2,000 meters above sea level. So, some travelers may feel a bit uneasy because of the high altitude. Therefore, the tour guide will plan the visit to these places depending on how you are feeling.

You will drive to Punakha from Thimphu, visiting the Simtokha Dzong enroute. On the way, cross the famous DochuLa Pass (3,050 m/10,000 ft). From the top of the pass, you can see mountains like Masang Gang, Kangphugang, Terigang, Gangkar Puensum, and others.

Likewise, you can also see 108 memorial stupas made in memory of Bhutanese soldiers who died in a 2003 military operation from the pass. It will be a fantastic drive. In Punakha, you will visit Punakha Dzong, built in the 17th century. Other must-visit landmarks in this city are Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten and Chimi Lhakhang Temple.

Visiting these places will deepen your knowledge of Bhutanese architecture, culture, and art. After exploring Punakha, drive back to Paro. You will have one full day in Paro to explore the popular Taktsang Monastery, aka the 'Tiger's Nest' and other sites like Rinpung Dzong, Drukgyel Dzong, and Kyichu Lhakhang Temple.

Like in Nepal, you will spend your fair share of time exploring local markets, shopping souvenirs, and trying Bhutanese dishes in Bhutan. Your guide will take you to the best places where you can try authentic Bhutanese food.

Before traveling, check with your insurance provider to confirm that both Nepal and Bhutan are covered under your policy. Having the right insurance gives you peace of mind and ensures protection throughout your journey.
