Why choose the 15 days Nepal Tibet Bhutan tour package?

As we say, the more, the merrier; you will explore not one, not two, but three Asian countries on this 15-day trip, which makes it one of the most immersive, adventurous, and exciting vacations.

Starting from Nepal, the land of the tallest mountain in the world, one-horn rhinos, and incredible cultural heritage, the tour will take you to the roof of the world, Tibet, and the land of dragons, Bhutan.

You will enjoy a perfect blend of adventure, history, and spirituality. There will be countless small but meaningful interactions with the locals throughout the trip. You will explore the major tourist cities in each country.

Your day-to-day activities during the tour involve delicious foods, sightseeing historical monuments, visits to art galleries and museums, and strolling bustling local markets. Evenings are leisurely. You can rest, enjoy a dinner of your choice, and buy souvenirs.

Likewise, travelers who love drinks and music can visit clubs and bars, especially Kathmandu's nightlife will not disappoint you. Below, we have shared major attractions in each country during the 15 days Nepal Tibet Bhutan tour:

Nepal

The tour begins in Kathmandu. You will explore UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, Monkey Temple, Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Bhaktapur Durbar Square.

Likewise, you'll also visit the oldest temple of Nepal, Changunarayan Temple. This temple is like a hidden gem that only a few travelers visit. Kathmandu will present the rich Nepali culture, history, art, and architecture. You will be staying in Thamel, the city's tourist hub.

The narrow, lively streets of Thamel are also a highlight of Kathmandu. You will also explore the Ason Market as well. This is an insane market with hundreds of shops selling all sorts of things. You will also spend a night in one of the lovely hotels in Nagarkot.

Nagarkot is a hill station near Kathmandu. It is situated 2,175 meters above sea level. In Nagarkot, you will enjoy a tranquil environment, beautiful scenery, and Himalayan range views (only if the weather is clear).

While returning from Nagarkot, you will visit the Namobuddha monastery, also known as Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery. It is one of the significant monasteries in Nepal, located 40 km southeast of Kathmandu.

The monastery is situated on top of a hill and offers breathtaking, serene views of the surrounding hills and valleys. The Namobuddha Monastery presents complex but magnificent Tibetan architecture, intricately designed stupas, prayer wheels, and colorful murals depicting Buddhist teachings.

Tibet

In Tibet, you will spend three full days in Lhasa. It is ample time to explore all the tourist sites extensively and enjoy Tibetan food, markets, and lifestyle. The Tibet tour starts with a captivating flight across the Himalayan range. The mountain views are sensational during the flight.

Lhasa is located 3,656 meters above sea level. So, travelers have to focus on acclimatizing. Therefore, your arrival day in Lhasa will be leisurely. You can visit the nearby market and rest and adjust to high elevations.

Potala Palace is one of the main tourist attractions in Lhasa. Built in the 7th century, the palace long served as the winter residence of the Dalai Lama. In Potala Palace, you will see traditional Tibetan architecture and numerous Buddhist relics, murals, and scriptures.

Likewise, another palace visit will be to Norbulingka, which used to be the summer residence of the Dalai Lama. Norbulingka dates back to the 18th century. It was first made as a meditation center and gradually expanded to a huge man-made garden and summer residence.

Then, you will visit the Jokhang Temple, the spiritual heart of Tibet. The temple was established in the 7th century. It is a pilgrimage site in Lhasa. Hundreds of pilgrims visit this temple to perform sacred Kora. The temple boasts an excellent blend of Tibetan, Indian, and Nepalese architecture.

Additionally, the Jokhang Temple is surrounded by Barkho Street, one of Lhasa's bustling markets. You will explore numerous souvenir shops, cafes, and local eateries here. The last three monuments you will visit in Lhasa are the three great Gelugpa monastic universities of Tibet—Sera Monastery, Drepung Monastery, and Ganden Monastery.

These are the three most prestigious monastic education institutions in Tibet. The monasteries boast incredible Tibetan architecture, art, and craftsmanship. FYI: The famous debate sessions among the monks take place in the Sera Monastery.

Bhutan

After exploring Tibet, you will return to Kathmandu and take another short flight across the Himalayas to travel to Bhutan. It is easier to enter Tibet and Bhutan from Nepal, so we take flights from Kathmandu. Our Bhutanese representative will welcome you to Bhutan.

In Bhutan, you will explore three cities: Thimphu, Punakha, and Paro. You will land in Paro and drive to Thimphu on the same day, which will take around two hours. Thimphu has many tourist sites, and you will visit most of them during the tour.

Other must-visit sites in Thimphu are the National Memorial Chorten, Drubthob Monastery (aka Zilukha Nunnery), Tashichho Dzong, Arts and Crafts School, National Library, Traditional Paper Factory, and Folk Heritage Museum.

From Thimphu, you will travel to Punakha. You will cross the Dochula Pass (3,200 m) on the way. The mountain views from the top of the pass are fantastic. The must-visit tourist sites in Punakha are Chimi Lhakhang Temple, Punakha Dzong, and Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten.

Return to Paro after exploring Punakha. You will enjoy a lovely hike to the Taktsang Monastery (Tiger's Nest) here. The Taktsang Monastery is a prime example of magnificent Tibetan architecture.

Similarly, you will also explore Kyichu Lhakhang, Drukgyel Dzong, Drukgyel Dzong ruins, Ta Dzong Museum, Rinpung Dzong, Dungtse Lhakhang, and the Farmhouses in Paro Valley.

Best Season for 15 Days Nepal-Tibet-Bhutan Tour

The spring (April to May) and autumn (September to October) seasons are considered the best times for a Nepal-Tibet-Bhutan tour because of the ideal weather conditions and breathtaking natural beauty they offer. In Nepal, these months bring clear skies and comfortable temperatures, making trekking in the Himalayas and visits to heritage sites like Kathmandu's Durbar Square or Pokhara's serene lakes highly enjoyable. Spring adds vibrant rhododendron blooms to the trails, while autumn provides crystal-clear mountain views, enhancing the trekking and sightseeing experience.

In Tibet, spring and autumn are characterized by mild weather and excellent visibility, allowing travelers to explore iconic sites like Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, and Mount Everest’s north face without disruptions caused by harsh winds or extreme cold. These seasons also offer the best conditions for road trips across Tibet's vast plateau, where snow-capped peaks and turquoise lakes are at their most stunning.

Similarly, Bhutan’s charm is amplified during these times, as the weather is ideal for hiking to the famed Tiger’s Nest Monastery or enjoying the lush valleys and terraced landscapes. Spring in Bhutan brings blooming flowers and greenery, while autumn is perfect for experiencing its vibrant traditional festivals (Tsechus) under clear skies. Across all three regions, these seasons ensure minimal rain, pleasant travel conditions, and awe-inspiring views of the Himalayas, making them the most recommended times for this comprehensive tour.

The Altitude During 15 Days Nepal-Tibet-Bhutan Tour

During a 15-day Nepal-Tibet-Bhutan tour, travelers will encounter a range of altitudes across the three regions, requiring gradual acclimatization in some areas. In Nepal, the altitude typically ranges from approximately 1,300 meters (4,265 feet) in Kathmandu to around 2,000 meters (6,562 feet) in hill regions. Moving into Tibet, the altitude increases significantly, with cities like Lhasa situated at an average height of 3,600 meters (11,811 feet). Visitors may need time to adapt to the thinner air and higher elevation here, as Tibet is known for its high-altitude plateau. In Bhutan, the altitude remains relatively moderate compared to Tibet, ranging from 2,200 meters (7,218 feet) to 2,500 meters (8,202 feet) in urban areas such as Paro and Thimphu. The gradual transition from lower altitudes in Nepal to higher ones in Tibet, followed by moderate elevations in Bhutan, makes this trip both rewarding and manageable for most travelers.
